from a book in my collection of many books. It is by the author. In fact, the post title
and verses are from his book too. Sometimes life stings and brings us bruises, physical,
emotional, or spiritual. Sometimes all we can do is just cry out to God saying,"Lord, I
can't do this alone!! You are the one I need. It's only on Your strength that I can go on
or even do this. Lord, I'm so weak! I cannot do this by myself! Oh, please, Lord God,
help me!" Sometimes our burdens don't just appear that way, but they are heavy, so
terribly heavy, and there are other moments that it feels like extra weights are being
placed on it or that bashing problems are hitting us from every direction!
The Bible says,"...casting all your cares on Him, for He cares for you."
(1 Peter 5:7) There are times in life when we feel,"Lord, if I do this, it is going to
kill me! I feel like I could die from this sadness. This is too heavy for me, too
painful, especially to bear alone! Lord, help me! Oh, please, help me!"
When you are extremely burdened, whether it's a hassling day, or
some deep pain that is making your heart just bleed, cry out to God! Call on
Him for help! Fall at His feet. Weep, if you have to. But come to Him with
your hurts, big and little! (Those were my own thoughts.)
"He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying,
'O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me;
nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will."
(Matthew 26:39)
" Sometimes we can see the road ahead, and it frightens us. We
want to find another path, another journey, another ending.
Sometimes, no matter what we do, no matter how hard we
struggle, we can't change our destination."
-Robert D. Lesslie, M.D.
"Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My
righteous right hand."
(Isaiah 41:10)
Friend, if you are reading this post and are feeling pressed down and heavy-laden,
I hope what I've shared here will give you something to think about and I hope
be able to use.
Rebecca
