Helping Out

Lately, our cousin Leona's been having contractions often, and
she wants George to know us enough in case she needs us to watch him
when she has the baby. Her due date's a couple months away. Today
Mom and Annah are going over to help.

On Tuesday, Mom and I went over there. Most of the time I played
with George. I got to feed him too! He gets a little stubborn sometimes
when eating. After Mom helped give him a bath, we played some more.
It was fun and quiet around the house.

Later Aunt Jean came home, but was exhausted also like Leona. So
Mom made dinner for them while all of them rested. Mom made breaded
pork chops! I love Mom's breaded pork chops. They are super good.

After fixing dinner, we were getting ready to leave when Leona came back
out with George, so we stayed for a while longer.

Barkley was very playful.
Sitting on my lap like the old days when we were both younger.

I think he looks cute and very boyish playing while his hair is all scruffy.
More playtime

Food?! I smell food in the kitchen!
Mmmmm. Looks delicious!
Any for me?

Playing with George
Mommy, the camera flash is very bright!

  1. I can't remember how I blog-hopped and came across your blog, but I just wanted to let you know that the love your family has for others shines through and through your posts.

Someday, if it is not a family secret, could you share your mom's breaded pork chop recipe?

    1. I guess I can. I'm not sure if it's a specific recipe, but Mom's ingredients turn out so nice.

  2. I'd like that recipe, too! They look similar to how my mom used to prepare them, but I don't know how she did it! Flour, maybe cornmeal, then panfried? I have no idea. So share if you can! Funny, your mom probably does it by rote and doesn't even HAVE a recipe, which is a sign of a good cook!

  3. My mom too made the best fried porkchops. You and your family are always so gracious with your time giving to others. George looks like he had a fun day and probably slept well that night from all the fun he had with you all.
