Complications Set In

Annah and I got home about ten minutes ago. Aunt Jean brought us.
Mom is staying tonight at the hospital with Dad. He's in the cardiac
ICU at Barnes-Jewish in the city of St. Louis! He's very sick!
They did get the pacemaker in, but his blood pressure went very
low again, and then they found blood leaking behind his heart
and had to drain it. They had to stabilize him too. After he went in for
the pm, Mom or we didn't get to see him at all until they were ready to
take him up to ICU. He went in for pm at 3 and about 10, they took
him up. His face is all puffy and swollen, and pale. He's in alot of pain too.
His speech was a whisper, but before we left, he prayed with Annah and
me just like he always does before he goes to bed! He's sooooo weak
right now. I've seen him pretty sick before, but not like this!!!

Please pray that Dad does not get any infection and that his problem
doesn't need to be surgically closed. And also that the fluid in his heart
doesn't accumulate again!!
 Please pray for peace, especially for Mom and for God to provide our needs.

    Thats terrifying. My dad is in hospital at the moment too. I know how you feel. I'll pray for you.

      I think he is. From the text messages he's sent, Mom said he sounds happier.

      But Annah and I had to stay home today because I'm sick. I have a fever, so we do not want to give it to Dad, though he's already had it.

    I'm so very sorry to hear this. Praying for your father and for all your family. How frightening and difficult this must be.

    I feel particularly sad about this because I had gone home to St. Louis to help my own mother out after she had a pacemaker put in and it should be a straightforward procedure. I'm so sorry that your poor dad has had such an awful time of it.

    You are a good family and I pray your dad becomes well again.

    Hey everyone, IM laying here waiting for something to happen. I am feeling better as I got up 3 x and even was able to sit in w chair for a while. The drainage from around my heart went well as I was able to get up and move around.
    I do appreciate you prayers, and I thank God for you always.
    The next step is having the drain removed, then I can step down out of ICU.
    Then in a couple of days go home! This past evening after waking up 3x my BP, and
    Pulse are normal. Right now even rolling over r in bed wears me out.
    I have always heard; " a good man ( or woman) is like poison food" IT'S HARD TO KEEP TJEM BOTH DOWN!!! I/ we will be back. Jerry kellum

    Jerry -- what an awesome update! We are praying for you and hoping you get to go home soon. It's so hard to be in the hospital and actually get the rest you need to heal. Please know that people you have never met are all praying for you!
