Christmas is coming!

Christmas is coming! Jennifer took
Annah and me out this week for some
very important shopping and we got our
tree up too! Some people don't do Christmas
trees, some do. We like to have it for a special
touch to the season. It's something we enjoy!
This year we took the very bottom branches off
because it makes it hard to put things under there,
but even, the Nativity scene won't fit, I think!

Our fireplace mantle last year.
Our tree last year at night

My ornament from last year
My collection
Ever since we were babies, we've had an ornament. Each year Mom lets Annah and me
get a new one to add to our own collections for future use someday too, Lord willing!

Beautiful balls
Beautiful icicles
Our tree this year

Before I go any farther with pictures of our tree, there is a story behind it!
Christmas of 2001, we'd moved into some apartments and got a real tree,
but Dad, Annah, and I all came down with rashes from it. So Christmas of
2002, we planned to get an artificial one. They were expensive, But Dad
knew the Lord would provide. One night, we were driving in Aunt Jean's
neighborhood when we noticed a big black trash bag with a big FREE sign
on it at one the end of one of the neighbor's driveways! Dad came back and took it.
When we got it home, we discovered that the Lord had blessed us with an 8 1/2
foot pre-lit Christmas tree! In this house, and the one before it, we've had to cut
it down a little bit because of ceiling height, but we enjoy our tree and hope that
somehow we can honor God with how we use it.

Another one of mine from last year. I like snowflakes!
Mom has several sets of glass balls.

When Annah and I were little, Mom let us each make one of this!
Dad and Mom were given this 2 years ago at a Chinese buffet for their 20th anniversary!

I've had this one since I was really little!
This has been with us for years!
Mom made this when she was younger.
This cross is my new one for this year.
This is one of my favorites of Mom's sets.

Another anniversary gift

The Klein family made this and gave it to us!
''But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son,
born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were
under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons."
Galations 4:4-5

  4. I love your tree and decorations! Your ornament collections are beautiful. I will be praying that someday you and Annah are sharing your collections with your own families.

Our Christmas is a different this year as my husbands cancer has returned, this time with an inoperable milignant tumor, and I haven't even had a chance to do a bit of decorating. Today, after radiation, we came home and watched "The Nativity Story". Such a wonderful story, I could hear this story every single day, and it would always make me feel so blessed and excited for the birth of Jesus.

    Blessings, Mrs. Mari
